Sierra Madre Del Sur-Guerrero, Mexico Trip

:eek: what I have to click again. :D oh well seeing its bearthedog's pics it's probably worth it. My spanish is a little rusty, isn't sierra mountain? and if so does that mean Mountain Mother of the sea?
 
Your photos never fail to impress! Gotta love those Mexican VWs. See a lot of those in South America as well. That croc shot is way cool! Petroglyphs are nothing more than the work of a bored people! Sort of like texting and twittering in today's world. Think about it, how many times did you carve stuff into a tree when you were a kid. And everyone wants to make these petrothingys out to mean something! :D
 
Thank you all for looking. I think for me it is more about the experience good or bad. I also like to test gear in an authentic way and not just go in the backyard and try to write a review. Although I was writing about some gear for a few projects, I do recognize the danger and even though I have traveled to many places in this world, that doesn't really mean it is insurance in any way that I will be ok. The truth is, from the time I got there till the time I left there was that chance that I could end up kidnapped, or in a photo without a head. I knew this going in and told my close friends and family that if such a thing should happen...this is what I wanted to do and they shouldn't feel guilty about not being able to talk me out of it. Sounds dramatic but when one travel as much as I do, the people around me are unfortunately in limbo when it comes to my safety. I said it before and I will repeat it, I don't recommend this type of trip alone. If you look up safety in Mexico you will find all types of horrible accounts involving tourists, kidnapped, beaten, and killed. I have some good friends that I didn't even share my plans with because of the, "I told you so" factor I would have to face if something went wrong. I also instructed my close family and friends not to pay any ransom if I had been taken. From the time I landed survival started but it was more of a mental game in the city. Sometimes it's hard to tell the sharks from the fish. Can't show all your cards. It wasn't until I got in the forest that I started to relax and feel safer. I have received many emails and pm's concerning my trip and I welcome them. Again, I recommend going with friends and really enjoying yourself. If anyone was any questions about third world travel I am more than happy to help in any way possible, if I can't talk you out of it.

How did the spanish go? I am trying to improve. I think an immersion program would help tons
