Sig p938

well I put a few rounds down range last night.. it was great. I was surprised to find that it doesn't have such a snap to it like most tiny 9's and .380's do. I don't have any clue as to why but the barrel just doesn't rise like the others I've shot. it was even more surprising considering I didn't have the extended mag in the gun and only had a two finger grip on the thing. seems very accurate, I was knocking down bowling pins consistently at about 30 feet. haven't shot for any kind of group yet it was just to darn hot last night so I didn't stay out long. ill get some targets up and post pics of how it groups. but so far this little guy was worth every penny!

as long as your not gonna try and shoot me. yes id be happy to let you shoot it.

When the first 938s came out (Nightmares and Extremes) there were reviews on the internet about then jamming and hanging up (FTE and FTF). I asked my Sig rep and he said overall, most of those were users limp wristing (same excuse glock gives if one of their "holy" guns jam). But, he did say that the 938s seem not to like Hornady Critical Defense and Duty (I assume the polymer tip hitting the top of the hood instead of the jacket), and Remington UMC ammo, with the occasional one that didn't like Winchester White Box.

I do it with all my guns now before I shoot them for the first time, clean them, get all that factory junk out of it. And this is a detailed cleaning, close to if not reaching full disassembly. Clean, degrease it, then put my own stuff in there. Most companies don't ship with lube in there, they just ship with a protectant. Sig often ships with lithium grease in there too.

Overall I like them and was planning on picking one up, but I got impatient and got a good deal on a Sig 290 and I couldn't be happier with it. I've never had so send a 938 back to Sig and never had to work on one, besides polishing the feedramp on one of our regular's, but he's old and likes to see shiny things and thinks it won't work without it polished.

Yeah, I figured with all the Nightmare one's it was an issue of limp wristing, and as for the wife's, her's was one of the few that didn't like WWB. But then again, at 400 rounds, it was almost like a new gun. It now eats just about any ammo, including Hornady critical defense & WWB. Darndest thing... Most noticeable break-in I've seen in a handgun.

Congrat's Beef, I really like the P938, been on the look out for one... But other things keep getting in the way;)

10 yards Beef?

Pathetic

I kinda agree... That tiny lil' 938 is a pretty capable lil' pocket rocket. I've shot many a failure to stop drills with hers at 15 yards, and am at least on the paper at 25 quick drawin'.

yeah well I just set some stuff up on the table to knock it down. I was just trying to see how the gun felt. I've only put 12 rounds through it.

12 rounds? Whew! High volume shooter

Mark is just jealous cause his Glocks can't do that. :p

Don't blame the Glocks!! They are not my favorite pistol but they will make bowling pins fly just fine. I just think Mark is grumpy because he has seen every gun there is and there are no guns to dream about anymore. Or maybe its the......"Hey Mark, know where I can get any .22LR or 9mm for cheap?" questions the last 7 months.

Not every gun, a guy did bring in a Dutch Beaumont the other day, that was a first.

And I know exactly where to get 22lr and 9mm, it's right next to the .40, .380, .30-30, .22-250, 30 carbine, deer slugs, .243, .223, 10mm, 5.7x28, and 9.3x74R that the gummerment is buying and stashing at Area 51 right next to all the Mosin Najants and full auto lever actions from the 1800's. I'm not saying it's cheap, but it's where it at. That's a fact

Or don't forget the classic: "you have any .22 Long Range?"

"No, sorry, we just have .22 short"

"You have 22?!?!?!"

"It's just short"

"Well what's the difference?"

Or instead of short, it's long then you have to tell people that long and long rifle are different. Or CB longs. Or Subsonic 22LR. And lord forbid people realize that not all 22 ammo is the same, there are match ammo that costs $20 a box and it ain't no Remington bulk pack. Or they say they need 22 and say it's for a pistol and the answer is sorry we don't have 22 long rifle and their response is "It's not for a rifle it's for a pistol!!".

People are stupid. Rant off.

Beef shoot your damn gun like a man and put more than 12 rounds through it. And don't baby it either, clean it when you get to 5 or 600 rounds.

Just curious whether you have tried 115 grain. I've read that there were some issues with anything under 124. That being said, I have 200rds of 115gn that I am going to put through my P938 this afternoon. We'll see.

I haven't tried much of anything yet, but when I do I will let you know
