Hi there knifers,
I'm just curious about the sigarms pitbull. I was searching around for a not so small neck knife for use with my future mercharness purchase and it was either this or the CRKT fixed falcon.

I know the quality of the falcon as I've had the opportunity to handle one but I don't know anything about sigarms. What is the quality like? How's the construction and materials?

Pitbull

CRKT Fixed Falcon

I figure that the CRKT knife is more of a utility knife whilst the Sigarms knife is more tactically designed.
Am I correct thinking this or am I off the target somewhat

I will probably end up getting both as I have an obsession that usually ends up with a purchase every pay (much to my wife's dismay)

Thanks in advance

Yes I would say the Pitbull is more tactical.

I love the look of the pitbull. I just wish they had used AUS-8/440C or better for the blade. I have a bit of a love/hate thing with AUS-6, the stuff takes a wicked sharp edge, unforunately, it just doesn't hold it very long.

Another neck knife you might want to take a look at is the Buck Hartsook. It's a small necker with an overall length of only 4 1/4" but it's made from high quality S-30V steel. (and the best part it's only $21.95 at knifeworks.com.)

Hmm will have to fine of those Bucks.

I have the fixed and folder Falcon (They came as a set) and have had no problem with them at all. The Falcon is a good little knife and if it fell apart after 6 months it only cost you 20 bucks....The pitbull has the same steel and is 44 bucks, but it does look scads cooler. If you just want a neck knife to open boxes and cut string the Falcon would do fine...If you want to scare the crap out of someone...get the pitbull...lol

I'll end up getting the falcon, but I do want the pitbull.

I guess my main question is.....

Is Sigarms a quality manufacturer? I have never seen or heard anything from them until I stumbled on this one on ebay (which is why I'm a little skepticle)

Thanks for your replies

I think the knife in question is actually made by Timberline, not Sig, and then some get repainted and sold as Sig merchandise. Like their T-shirts and other things.

If having a black blade is not critically important for you, the Timberline one is cheaper than the Sigarms branded model, but probably identical in every other way.
