Man, it seems Spyderco is discontinuing all the knives I wanted to get, before I have the cash to get them! Bummer! 1st Stop Knife Shop doesn't have Starmate's anymore, although they do have a few Wegner's left, but, unfortunately, it looks like the Wegner is for tip-up carry, so I probably won't get one anyway. Ah well.....

Dude, I found some Starmates being sold on-line at toolshop.com :D

Don't let the fact that the Wegner is tip-up scare you off. The detent is VERY solid and I just don't see how it could ever open on you if that is your concern. Just a great feeling, solid knife with a very useful blade shape. Get one, you won't regret it!

Good luck finding a Starmate as well, another of my favorites :cool:

I just like tip-down cause that's what I'm used to, and I can get the knife out and open quicker, too. :D
