Hey guys just posted this the other day and got permission from a mod to post here... if you have wanted to check out a regrind or cerakote please click here and sign up.

I would like to hear feedback and discussion on these knife mods and if you would like to compare them w/ other knives or finishes you have that would be great. Pics will be appreciated =)

This is a really cool thing to do man....

How would this work, or perhaps, not work for any international members that are interested in trying these two?

Well... I didn't have it open for international members but I would be open to the idea... I just don't want the other stateside members to have to pay the extra $ to ship it out of the US as it is quite expensive (as you well know lol). You have any ideas?

I guess that's a reasonable issue...

Maybe if the international tester could pick up the fee's, but then things could get messy with customs and perhaps even duty charges, and really bog this whole think down.

Keep it in the CONUS, it will just work much better.

Yeah I figure you are right... the nice thing about stateside is that USPS small flat rate is only $5.95, or even cheaper if you go first class (something like $3) so that's helpful.

Alright the knives will be on there way later today! If anyone still wants to sign up you can still do so during the actual passaround you will just be placed at the end of the stack.

Looks like the knives are in the hands of the first two in the list! Keeth, did you get Knife # 1 yet?

I am not Keeth, but what I would love to see, Josh, is a thread where we can gather everyone's reaction to these knives.

Can you make that happen?!

That's what this thread is supposed to be lol

Hoping to have the first two chime in here soon. Don't wanna rush anyone though!

I had a long day, OK?! (And I can think of more excuses!!)

That's great man, really interested to see what people think, and what they try with these two....

Got Knife #2 (conventional grind) in the mail today, and it looks nice! The Cerakote looks good, it flips open just as smoothly as my standard RAT-1 (which is WAY smoother than any $25 knife has any right to be!), and the grind looks/feels good. I'll try to get a few pictures up tonight.

As for tomorrow? Knife #2 goes for a helicopter ride! :D

Sweet

I wonder if the pivot action has already worn in... it was a little stiffer than factory when I shipped them out since I coated everything. I will be interested in taking it apart and checking it out upon return!

Looking forward to you putting it through the paces ;)

Yeah, it actually flips open pretty smoothly. There's a slight hind of drag, but I only really notice it when closing. I tend to really fling blades out, regardless of whether it's a stud, hole, or flipper, so maybe it's just me. :)

I have class the rest of today, flight training in the mornings, and work afternoons tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday. So Sunday and Monday I'll put it through some use on boxes we need cut up around here (some with tape, etc.) and a few other things (plus any use at work for cutting down boxes, zip ties, etc.), then I'll touch up the edge and ship out Tuesday (PO is closed Monday for Labor Day), if all goes to plan. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks again for the chance to play with it and see what I think!

Perfect, no rush. Thanks!

Knife #2's made two flights at two separate airports now. I'm actually really liking it so far, might have to get mine done up like this eventually. :)

And the rest of the "class room."

Didn't know you were a pilot! That's awesome 😊

Here is my review of the tanto performance. Overall, I was very impressed, excellent work.
