Sign up for a special run of 10" and 14" BDCs (aka "new models")

Oh lord why couldn't this opportunity fall into March or April.

Must wait.

Okay...10"...no, wait...14"....heck, 10"....Wait, no...14"...yeah...that's it...14"

Okay...14" Wood...

Definately 14" Wood...definately! :D

Uncle Bill or Dan,

I have been looking for a smaller khuk for a while so I want to get on this list.

Got some questions about the 14" BDC:

Are they full tang or hidden tang?

What is the height of the blade at its widest point?

What is the thickness of the blade at the spine?

What is the typical length of the handle?

Is there a buttcap?

What is the typical weight range?

Which Kami is doing this run?

Hope I am not to much of a PITA.

Thanks.

Full tang
2 inches
1/4 inch
5 inches including bolster
No buttcap
I don't have a scale. (lighter than 20 oz)
Bura did the last run.

Would like a 14" horn as well. However, I need to locate funding source. Need to sell more old stuff or stretch payment!

at the blems from this run.;)

Saving cash fer the Khonvention...maybe one will end up in the big box-o-blems...

Love that 14 incher.

Keith

A 16" version would be more useful to me. I hate to say this, being as how these are very attractive knives, but without more weight or reach they are delegated to the already closet-full category of 'camp chore knife."

At least they'd be good looking camp chore knives.

I know if I don't sign up I'll regret it some way or another. Oh well.

Bring on the sweet 16's !!

AAARGH! Help! I can't decide... 10 or 14, wood or horn. I know from you guys that wood is more durable, but that horn in the picture without the buttcap is beautiful. And if horn will hold up on those M43's... ?

What the hell. As Heinlein said, "Moderation is for monks!"

Pen, put me down for a 10" in horn and a 14" in wood. When I eventually get the full size Dui Chirra it will probably be wood, so two of them will match anyway.

Thanks to you and Uncle Bill and everyone for putting this together!

Regards,

Svashtar

Updated!

Wow! We have pulled some folks out of the woodworks on this one!

Prag, tbar, terr... Nice to see you folks chiming in! :D

I'm wrapping this up and sending the list to Uncle. It's pretty hard to knock his socks off, but this one sure did mine!

:D

Gotta jump on the bandwagon too! 14" with wood please........................!....................:) SK

Pen,
Might it be possible to send some "fancy" wood over to Nepal? I have a well seasoned slab of gorgeous snakewood that I might be talked out of for this run. One of a kind!
B.:D

Brian - I seriously doubt it would happen...just trying to be honest. Lots of problems arise. First and foremost, they'd probably just toss it in a pile with the rest of the wood handles they make and forget about it (blades and handles are made seperately). Second, even if they didn't lose it, there's no guarantee that they'd put in on the right blade. Third, we're not even 100% sure they'll get this order right. Too many variables. I don't even want to bug Uncle about it. If you're really dying for a snakewood handle, send my your knife and I'll make you one for a low price...

Sorry to be such a party-pooper...:(
