I think I'll set this going on a passaround. Just give me a week to redo the final grind and finish and do another test ( ;) ) and then I'll set her free.

Here's the list so far:

Walosi the cheater :p - KY
leatherman - TX
Bobwhite - PA
Russ Kay - MA
Brendan - UK
Aardvark - CA
etp777 - OKC? (not sure about this location)
youngwood - CA, eh...
Bruise - you interested? ;)

If we have the Canadians sign up and Bob sends it to Brendan, this will probably be the first ever International Passaround. Sounds good to me!

Here's a likely order:

Canada

- Bruise (if interested :D )
- Shirley (also, if interested)

USA

- Aardvark - CA
- leatherman - TX
- Walosi - KY
- Russ Kay - MA
- Bobwhite - PA
(etp777 in here somewhere)
(Zal - you interested?)

UK

- Brendan

I did some "rallying of the troops" to help Steven Roos and DaveH get a passaround forum started - so as soon as Spark gets the forum setup, I'll have the thread moved over there. (unless there are any objections)

If you are on this list - please confirm your spot by emailing me your mailing address.

If you want to be on this list (no limit - I don't mind how long it takes to get around) then go ahead and sign up here and email me your address to confirm your spot.

You must agree to these rules:
----------------------------------------------
1. You will send the knife insured for US$200, or be willing to pay for a new one if lost in the mail.

2. You will not ship the knife inside the sheath - they must be separate while in transit to avoid rusting the blade. As usual - there will be a special box.

3. You will mail it out exactly one week (7 days) after receiving it (or less). Exceptions can be made if you simply email me first.

4. You don't have to like it, but you gotta use it. :D

5. It's your own fault if you cut off your fingers playing with it. :p
----------------------------------------------

Easy enough set of rules?

Let's get the ball rolling!

Dan

OKC is right for me, and email will go out as soon as I click reply on this post. :) Thanks a ton for letting us check this thing out. :D

Err, just realized that the question marks might be about what OKC is. yes, in case anyone is confused, OKC is Oklahoma City, just as you guessed. :)

I thought maybe it was "OK Corral"....

Although- I gotta say. A blade nut might be tempted to "lose" the knife and happily pony up the $200 for being so "Careless";)

Shhh Sutcliffe, I swear I really lost it. ;)

oooops, I guess I shoulda saved that post until after it gets to me. :D

Canada

- Bruise?
- youngwood?

USA

- Aardvark - CA - confirmed
- leatherman - TX
- Yvsa - OK - confirmed
- ept777 - OK - confirmed
- Walosi - KY
- Russ Kay - MA - confirmed
- Bobwhite - PA - confirmed

UK

- Brendan

Yvsa - I'm open to mods as long as you clear it with me first. With the Pen Knife - I was interested in abusive testing. This time, it's just for fun.

Oh, and I got my fence post today...:D

Inserting statement here:

-----------------------------------------------------
The purpose of this passaround is twofold:

1 - have a chance to play with somebody else's handiwork.

2 - if you have been teetering on whether or not to start making your own knives, here's your chance to see what can be done with a simple kit of parts - and hopefully it'll help get you on your way.

-----------------------------------------------------

Guess I should add Rule #6

6. You can't beat it up if you can't sharpen a convex edge. Simple cutting and light chopping will not roll the edge and the most you should need to do is strop it. The exception to this rule is Brendan who, since being last, can beat it up as much as he wants. :D

I've done a bunch of Dave's passes and am doing a passaround of a Spydie Native on Knifeforums, that I'm gonna bring over here when it's done :)

(if it doesn't say confirmed next to your name that means I have not yet received your address)

OH MY GOD,

That is so beautiful. I want...uh, four of them. Geez. Any chance HI will make them?

John
145 days till ETS, and counting.

Pen, I wouldn't mind playing with it for a week. I love the handle in those pics; I didn't see much at the Blade show that looked that nice and I'm not exagerating. You've got a lot of talent.

There is so much good stuff that goes on/through this forum!

And here, woe is me.
Having to say I wish I could, I REALLY wish I could but I can't.:(
Currently in enough "doo-doo" for my interests(khuks/forum); best I not let it get to the "Fan" -stage.
(Where is it again, ya'll found those understanding spouses?!)

Will satisfy myself with knowing "I was REALLY on the list for that
MOOSE knife!" And remembering to turn off that annoying screensaver when I wants to look at it! :D

I think it takes a big and generous heart to make a knife like this and then pass it around. Thanks Dan.:)

Will be watching for this "Moose thread" for sure!

Shirley, it's not like you're BUYING it or anything. It's sort of like trying out a Christmas present (Dan DID mention stockings, right?). Just a little bit of postage, and you'll be able to touch something that beautiful. Might just come at the right time to save your family from a bear, or, ummm, a centipede, or, well, you know...

Understanding spouses are a dime a peck (or something like that). The key is to hide the khuks, or disguise them as uh, seeds. Or camping equipment. Or kitchen implements.

Dang it, just the old 'Buy the khuk Now" reflex itching...., nope, not home much these days and the forseeable future...:( that's why...

I get just as much a thrill with Pen's pix as I would with getting it .... call it living vicariously....;) :D
