Signature Barlow #2

Wow Jason... I have been distracted and haven't posted in months it seems. But, I have to say congrats! That thing is a true work of art. Love the podcast, hope you and the gang are doing well!!

That's a beautiful piece of craftsmenship ... very tasteful and extremely well done! The lucky owner should be proud to carry that!

Thank you Harry! This one comes in at 3.5" closed. It's gone to its new home but I may possibly have one with me when I pop into Badger in March. I'll only be there for a few hours Friday morning. We are leaving out for Steamboat early Saturday so I'll need to get my "shopping" done and say hi to you folks then head back home. I hope to see you there.

I'm with you Barrett. Ample sharpening choils and bold swedges. Gotta have 'em!

All of my lottos and first come first serve drops are conducted through my IG account at ritchie_handmade_knives I know social media ain't for everybody but it's how I do buisness primarily and so far buisness is good. I have deep respect for my supporters and collectors there. So grateful for them!

Thank you Duncan! I don't know that I would classify AEB-L as a "super steel" it is actually one of if not the oldest of the stainless steels. However it has superb cutlery performance qualities. It's a tough steel to beat as far as cost, ease of machining, grinding and finishing. It's a very tough steel with better than average edge retention. Some liken it to a stainless version of 52100. Here is a superb article by Dr. Larrin Thomas regarding AEB-L. I will say it is personally my favorite steel to work with from all I have tried so far.

Thank you Charlie! P.S. I do have HJ on my mind for 2024. ;)
Jason- Thank you kind Sir for schooling me up on that- very interesting, it sounds like an extremely good Stainless if one would liken it as as Stainless version to 52100.

Please, keep posting when you finish your Knives, one day I hope to own one from you.

Yes!! Clever design, IMO!!! I am trying to get a great knifemaker to copy that design!! 😁
He (your knifemaker) and I had a brainstorming session on a project I’m working on about this same design concept a few months ago. So cool you have a functioning knife. I’ve got my parts already cut out and just figuring out the cam lobe dimensions for a 0.060” lift to release the lock.

Hope I can FaceTime him when he receives it!!!! :)
