Another thread reminded me of the writings of Sigurd Olson. His books had more of an influence on me than any other writer. Any other Sigurd Olson fans?

It's been a long time ago - I need to read them again. Thanks for the reminder. He was somewhat of a legend, and a controversial figure, in the 70's back home in

I too like Sigurd Olson's writing, although his books are hard to find over here in Scotland. I had heard that University of Minnesota press were re-publishing some of his books, so maybe they will be more available soon.
I have read the Singing Wilderness and Runes of the North, and my favourite has to be Reflections of the North Country, It helped me understand why nature and wilderness are so important in my own life.

I first read one of his books when I was in elementary school.

I think there is only one or two of his books I have not read. Sigurd Olson's books are definitely good reads.
