Silent Knight or BURP

Roger that.
That spike on the butt of the BURP Coach is wicked. Wicked enough that I got tired of it, which is why I shortened and rounded it off. But, if I were to choose which BURP to get a second time, I'd still get the Coach. Or the MO. But even with my spike rounded off, it would still be a very concentrated contact point, in a butt-stroke. Just saying.
The spike definitely looks cool, I thought about the possibility of getting poked by it while sheathed. It might be ok horizontally carried though. I was thinking about a varsity though.

One thing I've learned in my short time about a Busse- If it's got an edge, point, hook, an area of combined terminating lines of direction, it will send me looking for band aids, guarantee it 100% ~ just practical experience, nothing more.
This is why when we saw the first spy pics of the Burp I said "oh, hell no, I know where that's going to end up" :D

The Burp is a very cool knife at no mistake! The Silent Knight however is the epitome Busse “Combat” knife. A good number of us have been waiting over a decade for an opportunity to get one for under 2K. A wicked knife that I really don’t have much use for besides collection purposes and showing off to friends. In my humble opinion, if you are looking to actually use a knife for outdoors tasks there are much better options! If you are willing to broaden your horizon, let us know the primary purpose that this knife will serve and we can make some recommendations based on personal experiences

Haven't been poked too much by Busse knives, and not too bad by the Coach. But, boy, when it did, it got your attention. It was more... pokey... than I thought it would be, even in a low-riding Spec-Ops brand sheath. So I decided it just had to be subdued. I left it long enough that the butt is still a great bottle opener. And like I said, the rounded spike would still ruin someone's day unless they had some protection over the area struck. But there is no longer a danger of it being a double-ended dagger! :D

Overall, both great knives. Similar... but different. I can't NOT use the SK, though. Haven't used it much yet, but I will. It is a beautiful blade.

I think you made a good choice, though, Varminthunter. Well, couldn't really make a bad one.

The Burp does feel good. I have a large hand and would choose the DS8 for what you described.

Is the DS8 handle larger than the trash2?

I’m probably going to put the trash2 and BJ on the exchange later this week. Still debating

I sharpened my SK on my hip flask and give it a convex edge. It work pretty well in kitchen now.:)
