Silky: not a survival saw

I have bent a few saw blades in my time, but I have no problems with the Bahco. I think I can agree with the general point RR is making about an intrinsically tough saw. I've never used a Silky.

I tell you what, I went to the Bahco website to look at their catalog for the saws. Well, I just started thumbing through it...I got tired at about 200 pages then I notice it has about 1,300 pages. I wish I had a Bahco store in Missouri! I'll look for a shortcut to the saws on the website!!

Another nice option is the sven saw... I like it alot. My dad has one since at least 25 years and it still works good.

The standard Bacho is the 396-LAP Laplander folding saw, 9inches.

I just got mine today and WOW!

Yes they are incredibly light and cut amazingly fast. Seem pretty tough too.

My 1st saw though, I'm trying to branch out n have some good stuff equipment wise rather than just stock piling up on my collection of large "chopper" knives.

Is that an Izula?

How about BigBoy? that's my go-to saw.
We tried to saw through a coconut trunk but that was a mistake. Unless the saw teeth was larger, it was stupendous to even think we had an edge with it.

Used my Silky to build a great big shelf for the stockroom yesterday. :D

I have noticed that alot of people do not understand when a saw cuts on the pull stroke you don't put alot of preasure when you push it the opposite direction, the main preasure is on the pull stroke only. In other words lighten up when you push and put more preasure when you pull.
