Hello everyone,
The following is a WIP that Im sure many will enjoy.
Luis Chavez is a silversmith friend, extremely talented, for some time now I've been telling him "you MUST show your work in BFs", so he prepared this picture sequence I'm showing here.
The blade was made by another friend, Mauricio Daletzky (some may remember an amazing WIP he posted last year).

So far is the handle.
In a while I will upload the sheath, mind blowing work too.
Thanks guys for your comments, I will sure pass them to Luis.

THAT's the knife I wish I could make!!! can't wait to see the sheath. Be sure to tell both gentlemen that they are true masters of their respective crafts.

Marvelous carving, beautiful blade. Thanks for showing tradition at work.

As David says, two master works,

John

Thank you for taking the time to post your wonderful photos of such a stellar piece of work.
Can't wait to see the sheath!

Ther are not alot of people left able to do that kind of work. Its great to see. Thanks for sharing. Id love to see some pictures of his workshop.

I'm glad you like it so far.
Here comes the sheath part

(if you are wondering about the damascus mandrels and if there is a reason behind them, the answer is no, in his own words he says that "he likes to be surrounded by art", he also has some damascus chisels, you'll see)

Oh WOW!! Stunning work! The knife is an exceptional beauty and with the sheath....fabulous!!

now that is serious business!
Thanks so much for the show :)

Thanks for sharing all the in process pics. That is such talent ecspecially knowing he is using the hammer and chisel method vise a power engraver. Not saying using a power graver is easy or less talented but HandC takes a much longer time to master and is far more time consuming.
