Silver inlay process question

I've been reading a number and of older posts the "silver inlay" gets mentioned quite a bit.

What exactly is the process?

What's available in terms of design?

Silver inlay; they machine a design into a standard (sand blasted) handle slab, no anodizing or other polishing. I believe thay are available with the CGG or unique designs.
