Silver is trading up, necker II!

But do it right send it back to Guy for a face lift so when it gets back it scares the hairs right off your arm. Then it will be worthy of treating out. Only the right way to do it.

No updates? Not cool!

To be honest, I hadn't totally made up my mind on this sweet little blade. I kept going back and forth about using it or keeping it in its unused state to trade off later.

Great size and super comfortable, that's about as much of an opinion as I have right now :)

I pre-ordered mine and picked it up in person and ending up buying a second. I use mine all the time around the house and I find I reach for it a lot more than my 3.5 or my 4.1. It's definitely the odd ball in the GSO line up and there are more standard shaped neckers like the Izula. But I got rid of my Izula because I reached for my 4.1 more often. I think the sheath does dull it a bit but it's small enough to resharpen, especially with that workshop field sharpener that you have. But it's a waste if you don't use it. Resharpen it and give a try on your belt or around the house, in the yard or in the field. Afterwards let us know what you think.

I was really surprised how much i like the necker 2... I was lucky enough to grab one off the FB group, and idiotic enough to not buy a second one when they became available... regrets!!!!!!!!!!! When the next batch pops up, I'll be all over them... Its like a box cutter and a rhino had a baby...

Not a bad idea! I might give it a try to finally see how the 20cv sharpens compared to the 3v. It would be my first comparison of the two.

You guys and you're darn logic :D
Really though, great story and comparisons of good blades. That is some really good perspective and was a lot of help to read.

Hahaha!!! I really laughed out loud. They should add this to the description on the website.

FWIW - 20CV is a little easier to sharpen then 3v. It's definitely not 01 or 10xx steel. You can strop it back faster than 3v but it's a lot of work. I only strop mine to maintain, but several of my N2s have gone dull like yours and I am going to sharpen it staring with my extra coarse diamond stones and work to 1200 grit with my DMT Aligner. It shouldn't take long and 20 cv really takes an edge. A long time ago Guy told me he thought he could get 20 cv sharper than 3v. Now'days it's hard to believe that ANYTHING could be sharper than 3v when Guy is at the sharpener. I'd be curious to hear what he thinks now.

Thanks for sharing your experience, OBX. I'm surprised and encouraged about the ease of sharpening. I thought I'd have a harder time since it is stainless. I'll find out soon enough!

NP!! I just resharpened my N2 with my Aligner and finished with a strop. It took about 10 to 15 minutes to put a shaving sharp edge on it. It polishes a lot easier than 3v.
