Moving right along, today I started workin' on a Black Tiger AD. I sanded down the grips and stripped the spine. I haven't decided if I should put a high polish on like the Skelly Warden, or hand satin finish; and to oil up the grips... In the pix, I had just washed the dust off of the grips and they are just wet, but since it had that look, I snapped some shots. :). This is kinda fun, except for the choil... That's a PITA, LOL. Takes time doin' it all by hand...!

What do YOU think think... Should I satin or high polish the spine? :confused::D

:D Here's a few pix...

Looks great Jaxx :thumbup: I would probably go satin on the spine. I like the look of the sanded handle colors too. For some reason it reminds me of my favorite Black and Gold minnow Rapala lure I used all the time as a kid.

I didn't pick up one of those tiger ADs but now I kinda regret it. I'm also really hoping for some tiger Meaners! :D

Jaxx, that looks fantastic! :thumbup:

Those polished spines rock. You can't go wrong with either shine level, but I think the higher shine would work for me. :cool:

Jaxx It looks great man. I think that satin is perfect for that color combination. Thanks for the pics and the idea!

Very cool! i like the look of the sanded down tiger hide...

Someone did that to their FBM LE recently, i just haven't worked up the guts for that one :cool:

Looks great mate! I think the high polish spine would complete that one nicely. Have to admit that if I had the time/patience then I would love to do the same with mine! :thumbup:

think satin will look better, looks like your there:thumbup:

the smooth slabs are sweet!

Looks great Jaxx!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

Really like the smooth tiger hide... :cool:
and, me thinks you should go satin on the spine. :D:thumbup:

Now that's my style of knife :) Do you think about enlarging the choil as well? You did a really nice job with the handle!

that looks great..did you have to use stripper on it or would have sandpaper/dremel been good enough to get the paint off? I am keen to strip a few spines but dont want stripper to spill over onto the blade so was just gonna sand the paint off.
