Similar To ZT 0562CF But NonFlipper

Hinderer makes a non flipper spanto in M390. Sadly, not in the slicer grind...yet. Probably about as close as you're going to get at the moment without a warranty voiding mod. Currently, all non flipper slicers are S35VN, as far as I know. But they sure are nice!

I agree. This is probably as close a one can get. Nice choice.

People who complain about Sebenza thumb studs and the Gayle Bradley liner lock being uncomfortable would have nightmares about using the 0562 studs. Quite uncomfortable on the one I had. But they do work (for me atleast)

Edit: Damn iPhone autocorrect

The official 0562 literature says they are not to be used as thumb studs.

I only have one, but am also able to open it with the studs. I use my thumbnail.
Same on the two I've had. Fairly easy to use the stops to open. I will say I wouldn't have said the same 2-3 years ago before my knife addiction.

OP:
How about a 20CV Grayman Dua or if you can bare the the thought of CTS-XHP, the Cold Steel lineup has some great knives.

That is pretty interesting. Any idea why? I mean I know they weren’t designed to be used to open, but I wonder why they specifically tell you not to?

They don’t tell you not to.

Only that they are the stop pin and not doubling as thumb studs like on the 0560

I would really like to see a knife like this... with washers... and of course no flipper.

EDIT! also forward finger choil for extra hindererness

Thanks all for the suggestions. I may take a look at the
Hinderer Spanto M390, although at $425 it's a little more than I was looking to spend but I'll consider it.

It'd be nice if Spyderco did another Sprint Run of the PM2 with M390.....like the exclusives they previously did for Bento Box and DLT. Unfortunately I missed out on those.

Bento Box is going to do a Para 3 with M390 run releasing at the end of the month but the blade length is a little short for me. I prefer 3.4-4 inch length for a folder.

You can get a M390 Griptilian from KNife Works with G10 scale or a M390 Griptillian with CF scale from DLT but I'm not a big fan of the Axis Lock. I'll still think about it though

Thanks for he help!

Just as a side note... You do realize that you can still open the knife even if you grind off the flipper, right? It is just no longer one handed opening. You need to use 2 hands as I agree that the blade stops are virtually impossible to use as thumb studs.

Not actually sure! Came with a 0562orblk I bought off the exchange. Contoured G10, fills the hand nice.

Cool, I think I found some online. Anyways, I don't own an 0562 but it's always been on my want list. Those scales are amazing, and while I'm a huge fan of CF I have several other CF scaled ZT's and want something different this time around.

Wondering what the OP disliked about the ZT0850? I think it's one of my favorite large, CF, non-bearing, non-flipper knives....That I own at least.

The 0850 is probably one of ZT's most polarizing designs. EIther you like the aesthetics, or you hate them. My $0.02. Function-wise though, stellar!

Simple answer - Grind it off.
(Does that model even have thumb studs? I've never given it a second glance)

*edited to add
I just looked it up - it's got thumb studs; so I stand by my original response. Grind off the flipper tab
The "thumb studs are not thumbstuds they are lockstops. There is no room to put your thumb in. You can flip them but it will leave a big dent in your finger.
