Hey how does the opening compare to the factory Carnivore? Can you hold button and swing blade open?

Greased Lightning - there is no comparison between Rekat & Rob's - so much smoother - actually I thought my Crawford Carnivore was smooth till I got Rob's( sorry Pat, this is not a criticism of yours - it is really smooth too!). You have to handle this knife to truely appreciate it!!!

Hey PENGUIN,

Good looking knife!

What is the handle material?

Very nice knife. Good job with the photography, too. The lines are slimmer than the REKAT and Crawford version. It looks much nicer. How long did it take to get?

I was really hopin' to have gotten mine from Rob by now, hmmmm....maybe Christmas Eve I'll get a visit from O'l St. Nick? probably not.

Nice looking knife, can't wait for mine, it'll have Desert Ironwood scales, the wait is killing me....

Ah, but then I'll have it for a long long time to come so I should just learn to be patient!

Is Rob still taking orders or are they on a limited run? Also how much does he get for one?

Penguin,

Fantastic isn't it

!! Go back a few months to see my review and pics of the first one out of Rob's shop.

Dennis,

Rob was only making 33 as was Pat Crawford. There were 30 more from REKAT using all stock components. Keep in mind ALL these sport Talonite blades! So, yup, 96 total is all there is.

One can never have enough Carnivores! I would like as many flavors as I can get. I'll give Rob a call tomorrow to see if its not too late to reserve one.

IT IS NOT FOR SALE & IT STAYS WITH ME OR CLOSE AT HAND AT ALL TIMES!!! Sorry Blademan!

Blademan: Penguins do need knives, 'DOOOBY DOOOBY DOOO! BEWARE OF THE PENGUIN!, and I do drink Bud Ice on occasion. The blade is 1/8" thick and is flat-ground from the flats to the secondary bevel. Very, Very sharp!

Damon, it is slimmer than the REKAT or Crawford and feels much better in the hand, plus the wood gives it a warm feeling - like a beautiful woman you just want to caress it and handle it. Wait was about 4 months - had ordered 4 other knives from Rob - decided this was one wanted first..

Gary, the wait will be worth every second - I know exactly how you feel, I felt the same way after seeing Bob's & reading his review.
It also looks great with the Ironwood - check out Bob's review & pics - his is Ironwood.

Thanks everybody and particularly Rob - it is understandable that his backlog is almost two years when you see work as fine as this. Now I'm going to go out & do what this knife was designed for - CUT SOMETHING!!

When you say that the handle is slimmer on Rob's version, do you mean that the scales are not as thick or did Rob change the original outline of the handle?

Is the index finger cutout as deep as on Pat's version?
