No frills, just a nice size hunting knife. (Be aware that there are some forge marks near the tip along the spine. They look like dust in the first picture.)

Forged 5160
Flat grind
Hand sanded to 400 grit
Walnut handle
Overall length: 8 inches
Blade: 3 7/8 inches
Riveted leather scabbard

Gerry, Do you heat treat your forged 5160 knives ?

Yes, I do it myself in a Paragon furnace. I take the knives to 1500 degrees for 5 minutes, quench in Parkers oil and double temper at 350 degrees. I test occasionally to see that I am getting the Rc 58-59 that this recipe produces.

I like that extreme taper Gerry. It gives a dramatic focal point to a fine looking hunter. You make me want a forge!

Thanks for the comment Mike. (I will keep an eye out for a used forge for you)
