simple etcher

the only down fall to this site is that he suggests to buy some of the simplier items at wal-mart. being a union worker, i would never reccomend buying anything at wal-mart!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't gotten around to building one yet so I use a really cheap one.

It doesn't have the AC to darken the etch, but I can get a decent etch. I used an old 7.5VDC transformer from some electronic device that bit the dust. Cut off the plug on the 7.5v side, add alligator clips. I just swipe a Q tip from the bathroom for the pad, a little ferric chloride and I'm good to go. Not elegant, but it gets it done.

At some point I do plan to build one from the Chris Crawford plans.

ditto my dad is union we only go there when whe absolutely have too:thumbdn:

Hopefully we don't turn this into a political thing.

I think the DC etch is fine for most folks trying to get by on a budget - what Rashid posted earlier will work with one or both PS. The Crawford tutorial is a good one and has been on my list to-do for some time.
