Simple face milling fixture for blades

So I attempted to face mill 2 blades, and as they turned out ok, I really need to make some sort of fixture for it. Anything hanging off the vise, gets a little choppy. But inside is smooth.
Any simple type of fixture I can make that will work?
All I can thick of is may be a 1" square length of aluminum to lay inside of the vise instead of the parallels.
Still learning with this machine.

Wide soft jaws with a ledge milled in them. You gang up two vises if it's a long blade.

The soft jaws sounds like a plan. The vise would be great, but, not prepared to spend that kind of money right now when I'm still learning this thing. Thanks Nathan.
