simple question on #13

13 being unlucky stems from Friday 13th when the then Pope ordered the execution of all Templar Knights....sealed orders were sent out all over Europe to be opened on that day....hence the saying..."unlucky for some"....they had become a bit too rich and powerful...interestingly they were the founders of the modern banking system...looks like bankers have been unpopular for a while...various Kings...particularly the French...wiped out a lot of debt...and were probably responsible for influencing the Pope to issue the orders...

Not all were killed though...it is still thought that there are remnants of this order scattered over Europe and the Middle East to this day...hence the reference to "some"...and not "all"...

Ding, ding, ding,

Thank you Dennis for the term/expression that was eluding me at the time while under the influence.

Funny I thought there would be more Boondock Saints fans here. They all musta been serial-crushed by some hyewg frickin guwy.

I had Sus Scrofa LE #13 for a while before letting it go to Knife Hunter - funny thing is that my SS#13 looked different than the official photo of SS#13 posted on the Busse Combat website. Are the #13 photoshopped? (Sorry, but I let it go before I had a chance to photograph it.)

Well.....there are other theories....hard to determine origins of superstitions.

I heard thirteen was unlucky because of the number of people at the table during the "Last Supper".

As I said above....there are lots of theories. The number 13 has negative connotations in many cultures.

I think it was aliens.

but seriously, this is the most interesting part of this thread:
