Here is one i started in 2006 and decided to finish the other day.
Forged from a truck coil spring it has wrought iron fittings and a red deer antler handle.
The over all length is 13" with an 8 1/2" blade. Thanks for looking!

Robert,

Very nice job, I'm working on my first seax now, hope it looks nearly as nice as yours

I like it but to me the guard should either be flush with the handle material or larger than it is- it seems to be impractical for stopping the hand and would hamper choking up. But my opinion only.

Actualy the guard works great it is already bigger than most as they are normaly flush with the blade. The ballance point is right behind the guard.
Thanks for the comment.

i've done 5 seaxen and i have to say that is an EXCELLENT interpretation. the balance of angles is really good. I go for a bit more of a dogbone handle, so i'm not sure if the guard is too big or too small.... it's about as big as it can be for the style.

i've really whaled on the point of a flush handled puuko doing overhand and underhand stabs and the slipping off the grip thing doesn't seem a problem to me. maybe a bit underhand grip.

Robert,

 Awesome job on the sheath, the whole package looks gorgeous.

Gorgeous work Robert! I've just bugun down the path to making knives myself, but I've always thought about making a seax/scramaseax when my forging and hidden tang skills are up to the challenge.... although after seeing yours, I know I have a long way to go to get mine to look a fraction as good... Great job!

One of the nicest seaxes I have seen, the sheath is A#1 and the whole package makes my Norse blood boil.
