How To Simple tests for sharpness

An unusual one, but one I've done before when no other media was immediately available:

See if it will shave the apexes off of your fingerprint. I find it easiest along the side of my index finger. If it's keen enough to grab just the tops of the ridges in your fingerprint it's certainly sharper than ever practically necessary.

I've sometimes done that accidentally, with some incidental contact of the edge into my fingertip. I think it's happened at times when I've used a fingertip to apply some pressure near the edge, while working it on a stone, and the edge lifts just a tiny bit and takes a little slice of skin. Leaves a smooth, shiny flat spot in my fingerprint. Looks kinda weird, but it's kinda cool at the same time. :D
