Simply WTF?

It takes some getting use to. Definitely not a normal way of buying or ordering knives.

First, there are two websites to buy brand new knives from:
Busse Combat (www.bussecombat.com)
Busse Company Store (www.bussecompanystore.com)

Busse Combat (aka - "BC") is the factory direct website and they only offer one style of knife at a time. At this time, The Bear Cub in different configurations. A couple weeks back, it was the Nuclear Fusion something - an 11" blade monster. Some will argue on here that the BC sometimes offer more than one knife at time, but whatever, it's basically one at a time.

Busse Company Store (aka - BCS) is like a retail website. I don't really know what to call it. They sell the knives that were offered at BC and what they have listed is what they have in stock and ready to ship.

Then you have the Exchange board on this forum. Inflated prices, usually $100 minimum mark-up over original retail and I've seen up to $500 mark-up. So unless you got extra grant money laying around, your bet is to wait patiently for what you want to be offered at BC or BCS.

Then....then, there's the Ganza. Anyone wanna explain that one? I'm tired.

Can somebody spoon feed me too??!! :D:D

Get on the hunt..you know what they say, it's worth more\means more if you have to work it a little! Enjoy!:thumbup:

OHHHH MANNNN THanks DUDE !!!! !

Cold steel? I think cold steel is about the same as United Cutlery or Uzi.

At least start with a Tops Knives, or Entrek.

I call BS on that one man...

While there is some mark-up, it sure isn't at a $100 minimum. Go look at the exchange now. TONS of knive are being sold AT or UNDER original costs as the market is flooded. Buyers market right now. And don't give us crap about the high price of older models. You know better...

+1000 on that response.

Well said.. :)

Yea, those stickies are stupid.
Where do I buy a cold steel again ??

I think I might have a few lying around............I might be willing to sent one or two CS knives your way for one of your Nick's, or perhaps one of those straight handled knives you don't really need any more.............just let me know:)

I also have to agree that it is a buyers market right now. I don't think I have paid any markup on any of the 4 models I have purchased off the exchange. I am not even sure that I covered the original price plus shipping. Of course, on the older productions that will not be the case at all, but that is the nature of the beast with a great product that is not being made any more.

I suggest all the mentioning of other brands, esp in a negative light, stop, and be edited out.

If you have a problem with other companies, if you want to speak to their business practices, to their performance, there are forums specifically for that.

This is not the place.

If I make 3 lefts, I really took a right...
If I make 3 rights, I really took a left...
So if I make 3 u-turns, do I qualify for NASCAR?

Sorry man, I may have to decline your offer . :grumpy:

I must of been coming down from my daily crank binge when I posted that CS stuff.. :barf::D

Something a lot of people don't think about when they see a knife on the exchange is Shipping.
So for example if I got a working mans Culti in a ganza I think they were somewhere around $200 then there is shipping to me which is another $12-$15 then if I sell it there is another $12-$15 to ship to buyer.
So if I sell it for $280 (which you probably won't these day's) I only made $50 about 25%.Most of the items I see unless they are rare and no longer made are selling for about cost once you figure in shipping and extras such as sheathes.
I understand there used to be a good profit on the secondary market a few years ago but I find its not there so much these days. I mean look at the Busse Company Store there are 3 models of BADs, 5 models Sus Srofa 4 models of ASH1 and a Scotch Dispenser in stock I remember just a year ago they would sell out in minutes.
