anyway, i'm done slaying someone's sacred cow lest they'll start throwing veiled insults again like they hike off trail only, like they're some kind of a high-speed, low-drag operator. i only speak from my own first hand experience. take it with a grain of salt.

you might get lost like i usually do, on and off trail when are you hanging out with us? we have a couple of people itching to do an overnight once the weather becomes a little warmer.

from a completely separate thread. people don't like hearing negative things about maxpedition even though i'm only speaking from my experience with my falcon ii it turns out. i'm not getting into it here. you can pm me if you like to discuss it further.

I like packs that are made for organization. I've learned that keeping gear organized instead of stuffing it all down one tube from the top makes life a lot easier and quicker in the field.

I used to have a REI New Star that is basically a sack with a hood and harness. Carried well and was comfortable (put nearly 150 miles on it), but a pain to pack and keep track of your stuff. I like the comfort of an internet frame pack but I like the organizational versatility of an external frame.

Last year I got a Mountainsmith Circuit 3.0... it is awesome! Best of both worlds.

I also carry a Badlands Whitetail Hybrid on day hikes for the same reason: lots of pockets to keep my kit organized. And their suspension system is the most comfortable I've ever used. I generally carry 20+ pounds on a day hike and I don't even notice it's there. :thumbup:
