My favorite patterns have been stockmans and whittlers. That being said I have an interest in all others and have been looking at single blade slipjoints. What does everyone prefer in single blades?

Buck 302 and Brown Mule Sodbuster

302 is handsome and thin, also well made. The Brown Mule needs cleaning up, but is carbon and has a more comfortable handle. I like 'em both.

What I really like is the Svord peasant knife, but it's not a slipjoint.

Although I only one one (a Case 31048), the slimline trapper is a pattern that calls to me, despite my preference to multi-blade traditionals. Knives like the Queen #11, the GEC 48, and Canal Street half moon have been singing their sirens song to me for a while. I usually prefer something in the 3.5" size for a traditional pocket knife, but the skinny profile of the slimline trapper makes up for the extra length.

I like the TC Barlow with a single spearpoint blade for edc the most so far, but I also really like the Case Mini Copperlock, and the Northfield SFO #85 EO linerlock. All of these knives can comfortably squeeze into my watch pocket without noticing that they are there when being carried.

I am a fan of the slimline trapper and I think Canal Street's half moon trapper is my favorite followed by the queen 11 pattern.

I love single blade slippies, so slim and easy to carry. Those and jack knives are really all I'm into lately. Anyway, the GEC #15 boys knife with single spear blade has been in my pocket lately and I find it to be a great daily carry.

I usually have one or the other in my pocket. GEC Boys knife and Northwoods Indian River Jack.

Just made me do a 45 minute quick read through on the thread in his namesake. And some perusing of his current listings. Makes a nice lookin single blade Barlow while we're on the subject.

P.S. That was a heck of a gift!
