Single Cell AA Flashlight?

A two level hi/low light is a nice feature because in an emergency, you can use alkaline batteries with the low level and still get very decent run times. You can also tell when it's time to recharge your NiMH batteries when there's no difference between Hi and Low. The Fenix L1Tv2 switches levels by twisting the head a bit. Nothing complicated.

I just ordered a 4Sevens Mini Quark for the reasons u stated; I am also looking for brightest single AA for EDC. +1 on the too many complex UIs!! I specifically did NOT buy some models because of their need to twist on-off 12 times to reach the desired mode...I could never give one of those as a gift! The frustrating part of the decision seemed like smaller/simpler=low power and the 100-200 lumen models were all large and complex. There is a HUGE potential for a mfg to market a small, simple powerful product. E.g. if the Zebralight SC51 would be the size of the MiniQuark while keeping its 200 lumen output, accept Li-ion batteries and have a simple Off-Low-Hi UI, I'd buy 5 of them! TradeOffs, oh well.

I still have that CARVED WARTHOG TUSK up for trade. Check out the listing in the"Exchange" forum. Will be happy to swap it for a single AA light.

Here is a picture of the nebo AA that I mentioned earlier. It is bright enough to see what you need without screwing up your night vision. It's cheap, built well, and i like it. I removed the pointy strikers with a file to keep it from damaging my pockets or anything in them.

I've had my eye on this one for a while: LumaPower Trust Model-1 LED Flashlight with CREE XP-G R5 350 Lumens - 1 x AA

Anybody have a Gerber Firecracker (18 Lumen, single AA) bought mine from SMKW for $7.99,only has one setting, and is made of solid alluminium.Turns on by screwing on the end cap and can be unscrewed a bit for signaling or what not. It features a brillantly focused beam which is quite blindly bright because of how the magnifier is set.According to gerber the beam has a range of 160 feet and is water resistant.

Now for the problem, just only owning this light for a few months it won't always turn after the end cap is fully fastened.Sometimes it requires a sharp tap to work.Quite disappointing

I EDC a 4sevens Quark Regular AA with a 14500 cell (AA size Lithium-Ion rechargeable) every day. I have other lights, but due to the smaller size and AWESOME brightness, this one gets the most pocket time.
