How rare or unusual is a single guard Project I? I have one and was wondering if it is something that is very unusual or very desirable since they are no longer producing the one piece series. Thanks,

Pics - I have never seen one of these...there are some Shadows out there (4" or 5.5" ...can't quite remember) with a single guard....

I don't think my current membership will allow me to post my pictures but if you want to see what it looks like I can email some to you. I guess I need to upgrade to a membership that allows posting of pics.

upload them to a photo-hosting site such as photobucket, and then copy the link and paste them in your post.

That is the standardized way of posting pics on internet forums.

thanks for the tip, I have never used one of those sites but will give it a try.

I have gaps in my historical knowledge of the OP range. Having said that, I don't recall CRK ever making the Project I with a single guard. Same goes for the 9" Shadow I. I custom ordered one with a single guard back in 1993, so I know that back then, CRK did custom orders like that. The single guard Project I of which you speak may likewise be a custom order.

I have seen a ton of the OPR knives and have yet to see a single guard Project knife. CRK made a single guard shadow III, tanto 1-4, sable 1-4, mountaineer 1-2, Skinner, etc. I would like to see some pics of it for sure as would many others !!!

Pics work for me...nice buck too :<)

Pretty damn rare if you ask me...I can't quite make out the card...born on date 1999? Does it not mention the single guard?

Nice find .... not sure what the market will bare though. Maybe around what a regular Project I would go for...guessing here. The Projects are not the most "desirable" one pieces. Some feel they are too big...but I like them.

Some one pieces I have seen (7.5" Kathathus (limited production)) go for up to $1500 or so...

Who knows ....

For your future picture post, you want to copy the bottom link where it says "IMG code." I hope you don't mind but I will include it in this post.

shoot no, I don't mind at all, I need all the help I can get. The card reads: Project 1 w/single cross guard September 24, 1999

I don't know that I would want to ever sell it but I thought you guys would know better than me if it were to have any exceptional value outside of a regular P1.
I appreciate you helping me get the pics up.

Phil
