It saddens me when I see multi-blades.
I passed on various knives including the BF

*casually looking for just the right one. It's probably going to be a nice, lambsfoot. Single blade. Of some sort.

I seemed to have missed this the first time around. Voted 3 blades.

I prefer to carry one knife and as such prefer 3 blades on 2 springs. 1 blade for food safe stuff, another for everything else, and the last blade for emergencies when my other blades have gone dull and I need razor sharp. I don't find two springs too obtrusive in the pocket.

2 blades also fits my bill pretty well as I almost never use the 3rd blade. 1 or 2 springs works, 1 spring preferred for the slim dimensions.

If I carry a single bladed knife, I'm usually carrying two of them 😝 One could very well be a fixed blade or some sort of locking blade. The other usually a folder.

I like them all lol. But I prefer 2 or more so that is how I voted. That is part of the charm of traditional knives for me, getting more blades in a small package. Plus most slipjoints are pretty easy to carry anyway compared to a Spyderco or something (and lots of people carry them), so I dont stress about max thinness for my pocket. I also have long fingers, so I like the extra size of a multiblade knife, so that I feel like I am actually gripping onto something. I want comfort in use, not carry. A cellphone is harder to carry than a stockman and I carry one everyday, so whats the big deal with a few extra blades?

A stockman is ideal for me, but Im not picky. Lol

Also, for those who like 1 bladed knives, try single spring but multi blade knives like some muskrats or a pen knife. The extra blade is usually pretty tucked away in use but you get extra utility. :)

That's a good point about ease of use vs ease of carry. I couldn't have worded it better myself. I find I don't carry my single bladed 14 barlow very often. I was very tempted by recent run of the 2 bladed 14 barlows. I felt the extra thickness would help it feel better in hand. Ended up not pulling the trigger. But, point is, sometimes having a little heft to the knife is a good thing!

I also agree that part of the charm for me with a pocket knife is that it is multiple blades. Most modern flippers (and obviously fixed blades) are just a single blade. So, if you want a multibladed knife, often times pocket knives are the only way to go.

And while I imagine most have already experimented with multi bladed configurations, I do find a muskrat, pen knife, or even these 13 clerks are just as easy in the pocket as my single bladed knives. Number of springs is almost more important to me than number of blades. I have a 3 spring 3 bladed stockman that is a heck of a knife and gives you something to hold on to for sure. But, you definitely feel it in the pocket more. I feel 2 spring pocket knives have the perfect balance between ease of use and ease of carry.

I voted single blade. It's usually a Buck 110/112 like the one below, today. If circumstances are such that a belt sheath is not appropriate then I can choose one of the smaller 500 series like a 501.

I like them all, and can definitely get by with a single blade, but I think a single spring with two blades or a double spring with 3 blades is the ideal for utility and efficiency.

I don’t think I own any 3 spring knives and that would be too clunky for me.

Here is most of my current user pile, minus a couple that are in backpacks and in my truck console. I count 7/16 are single blades.

All of the above! I used to think the stockman was "it." At some point I fell for the swayback gent with its single Wharncliffe blade. Then I got on a muskrat kick. I love the Buck 112, Case tribal lock and copperhead. I also love my Case Wharncliffe mini trappers. Geez, I don't know! Well, I voted two blade. That might be what I have most of, I guess I should go count them.
