Exactly what is this?
Does anyone have a picture of a knife with a single side hilt?

Thanks

Wiki
"The hilt (sometimes called the haft) of a sword is its handle, consisting of a guard, grip and pommel. "

In your case I believe that hilt is referring to the guard only.

Single guard,

Double guard

If it is referring to something else, Then I can't help you.
The poster just above links to a CRKT KISS frame lock and I haven't a clue what they mean by that.

The CRKT knife I linked could arguably be called a single-side hilt, I was not sure what he was asking about but this immediately came to mind.

Thanks ...
Here is why I am asking, a potential customer has asked for this.

DA - I was looking for someone who would be able to make a drop point about 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 inches long with a single side hilt and antler handle. The handle could be either slab or full handle.

I have asked if he has a picture of just what it is he is wanting.

I would assume he meant a single guard. But I think your potential customer needs to be more specific in what he or she wants.

My guess would be a single guard, full tang or hidden tang.

Working in sales for a few years I have learned that custumers don't mind good questions.
It gives them the feeling you take an effort to understand them exactly.
Espeasially in custom knives (or other custom things) a custumer would like to feel like you will fullfill his wish exactly.
Just ask a bit more about what he would like exactly.

I can complicate the matter even more. Would that not be called a single quillon?

hes surely is referring to a single side guard but id say to him "just to be sure we r using the same terminology when u say hilt are you referring to the guard"....

Thanks again...

I agree, I have asked for clarification and a pic of something similar.
I wanted to find out if he was talking about something I didn't know about.
