Sitting here naked, eating a Ho Ho...

Hey, I was like that with all the Japanese stuff you sent. I handed out most of the gum, but I'm sitting on the sake for now. I was flipping thru the newspaper you used as packing! We all had a good laugh at the produce flyer, tryinng to guess what each of the pictured dishses was! (plant, animal, or mineral:D:D:D)

"stupid "happy life" paragraphs"--Heeheeh LMAO! You can find that purple prose on organic and/or health foods in the US.

Man the shipping is exorbitant to JP! I feel like our exchanges thru the mail fed about three families for a week!

I know it!

I was shocked at first, but after a while, I just accepted that it costs about 40$ to ship three pounds 8,000 miles.

If you want newspape5rs and light stuff, Ill ship it to ya.
I can stuff all kinds of inane stuff into a 10$ king-sized envelope...

Hey, Danny,
Is it possible for you to give us a bit more info about that sword on your website. It looks interesting, and would a similar thing be available to us here in the U.S.?

walking man,
my sword was made in aikita-ken by a man named Nakayama.
It was made as a temple offering on behalf of a mans family when he passed away.
As such, it is probably not a common item.
However, there may be the possibility of buying a good no-dachi from a sword company there.
Last Legend makes some wide and long bladed katanas and I hear they are excellent quality.
The blade of my sword is 37.4 inches long.

I think Last Legend could make one like that for you.

Some words to use in your search might include: nodachi, odachi, wakodachi

Here I open the thread thinking it will be about Danny getting naked with a "HO" but it was about another guilty pleasure :)

Little Debbie is sweet too but she's a ho also ;)

oh man, she was chocolate on the outside, but she had cream filling on the inside.
i dont discriminate!

Danny, that is just sick and wrong! Glad you were able to get soem American treats. :) There's nothing like the taists from home to make it a good day. :D

wildman,
last night i paid 16$ for a 12 " pizza covered with mayo, corn, french fries and 1 molecule-thick pepperoni.

(they called it their "spicy deluxe" It turns out they just hit it with black pepper! cheap bastards..)

A couple of ding dongs work like magic, they really do...

octopus, shrimp, crab, dried fish flakes and mayonnaise.
They don't make pizza with tomato sauce?!?!?!?  :barf:
Mayonaisse is disgusting anyway IMO. I much prefer the Zing of Miracle Whip, it's Zesty!:p
Wonder what the Iron Chefs would do? I'll bet Iron Chef Italian, can't recall his name right now, would make pizza with tomato sauce!:D
Kind of interesting that Iron Chef Morimoto emigrated to America. I wonder what his take is on it now and wonder if he will enlighten his friend's in Japan?:)

interesting, i didnt know that.
they make a big deal out the iron chef thing over here...
That's what was said on the show here in the states. It's become a pretty big thing over here as well. The FoodTV Channel has a lot of fans of which I am one. Not as bad as I used to be though. I finally got kinda tired of Emeril Live.:)
Still like Good Eats, 30 Minute Meals and a couple of others now an then.
I had to quit watching it so much. The recipes I was collecting were too fattening!
We did discover just how damned good a beef shank was cooked simmered slowly in a decent red wine and lots of goodies! Wonderful eating and haven't had one in a while either. Need to make a trip to Perry's, a local meat market that sells stuff you can't get anywhere else in town.

I remember I used to like frozen Ding Dongs with a large glass of milk when I was a kid...

Danny, is the Japanese fast food consumer market ripe for a real Chicago or New York style pizza shop?
