Six blems and bargain for 10/2

I hate to be "that guy" but I just realized after reading this thread that I am not 100% what the measurement on the kukri indicates. For instance the 18" Ang Khola at the top of this page, is that 18" over all length or is that the blade length?

Haven't yet pulled the trigger to get my own kukri but I have been considering getting one for yard work and camping for the past year, I absolutely love their shape and the couple I have held felt amazing in the hand. If this isn't the proper place to post a question like this I apologize profusely, relatively new to posting on the forums and this is my first post on the HI board. Please feel free to let me know where questions like this should be directed in the future.
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Length for all HI products is always in OAL, overall length.

The Bonecutter is still available... Someone is asleep at the switch for sure. It's an incredible deal at 95$

F3d4Ykin, that is one tongue twisting finger confuser to type out. From now on, I'm calling you F3d for short. My brain can't handle the overload. Welcome to the Forum and understand there are no dumb questions--unless Bawanna, Cul, and Ndoghouse ask'em! If you don't believe me, just ask'em. One fine day you'll find that a khukuri has picked you and life will be good. So good that you'll probaly allow additional khuks to pick you to live with. Great bunch of fellows and a lady hang out here. You'll enjoy the company. Again, welcome.

Well... I have jumped on every ones showing up until recently. ie back when they were a rare gem.
This autumn they seems to show up as often as tree leaves on the ground. Am I a poet or what?

There are no dumb answers, only the search.

I shall summon the great spirit and find out what the answer is, he already knows the question.

Probably sooner rather than later too. We've been seeing a lot of awfully nice stuff popping up pretty regular lately.

Fingers crossed for ya.

I sent an email about getting the Ganga Ram Bonecutter, and the Keshar Lal villager Utility Knife. I haven't seen a reply yet. This is my first attempt at a transaction with HI. Could someone who's done several tell me what kind of turnaround is normal? I don't want to be obnoxious, but neither do I want to lose my shot at them by being overly polite.

Something I should have asked in the last post. How do you pay for these? I saw Sosa's post saying he'd sent payment - what method is used? Credit card? Paypal? I'm surprised there's not a link on the page explaining that kind of stuff, but since I haven't gotten a reply to my email, I have no idea.

I say I haven't gotten a reply to my email looking to buy them - should there be a "yet" on that? Do they reply to bids that are too late? I'm not fussing about any of this, I'm just trying to cure a complete case of ignorance.

Welcome Charles!
Please be patient. Yangdu is having some computer issues and it could be that it went down again.
She usually answers quite promptly barring unforeseen issues, but it is customary to give a person a day to respond.
Items are sold on a first come, first served basis. If you've followed the Ordering Instructions and provided all the needed information, there should be no reason for you to lose a shot at them.
No such thing as overly polite. Everyone should be extremely polite with our dear Auntie..:)

Payment is your choice. Credit Card, Paypal, Money Order and Personal Check are all accepted. If you are first in line for the items, Yangdu will send you a total amount and shipping cost. Generally she will do her best to let you know by giving you a "done deal" (they are yours) or a "lone gone" (they are not).

You may pay via Paypal, or other means, but DO NOT send payment until you receive a confirmation (usually "DONE DEAL") email from auntie stating that the item is yours, and gives you a shipping cost. Most people then add up the listed price, plus the shipping cost, and remit payment.

You sent an email to himimp@aol.com I am assuming, stating the knives you would like and from what DOTD by date. For instance - "I would like the KLVUK and Ganga Ram Bonecutter from DOTD 10/02/2015"

The email will be going to 1 person, and that is Yangdu Martino (affectionately called "auntie" around these parts). If your email is the first one she receives on that particular blade she will send you an email stating "Done Deal", and she will give you the shipping cost. If it's already been sold, you'll receive the dreaded "long gone". If a knife is already "long gone", you may ask politely if she has another one, and if she does, she will sell it to you.

The DOTD listing isn't always kept up to date, so just because an item doesn't say, "SOLD", does not mean it is available. Auntie may just be too busy to have updated the thread.

Auntie is very busy, sometimes a response may take a few minutes to a few days, but rest assured, she will get back to you.

This sticky may help answer some of your questions.

To add to what these gentleman have mentioned, you should look through all the comments before inquiring, as we usually post "EMS" for email sent and "DD" for done deal if we have asked about a knife. Bubba Sawyer, above, emailed about the KLVUK and got it already, so that one is definitely long gone. Probably got to him today actually.

Furthermore, some people will stealth-shark knives, meaning buy and not post, so there is a chance the GRBC is gone too. Best of luck to you though! It certainly is a nice lookin hunk of steel!

Hi, Charles:

Other people have answered your questions pretty completely, but one additional point is that many of Yangdu's DOTD knives sell out within a few hours of her posting, sometimes within a few minutes. The deals are that good. :) Yangdu usually marks them "sold" soon after, but she's very busy and sometimes doesn't.

Occasionally a deal will go unnoticed by forumites for a day or two, and you might get lucky. Or she might have another similar blade in stock, so it's worth asking in case you miss out on a particular DOTD.
