Let me preface this post by saying that I am not trying to drum up business rather...

I've had an epiphany. I'm really not a knife collecting kind of guy. I just as soon have a knive that I can carry everyday and beat up without worrying about what they will evenually look like. I have a small stable of users I'm very happy using in that capacity.

Only thing is I do have a few that are just too cool to let go. I don't want these things laying around, tempting me to slip one into my pocket for the day. I need to cut the cord so to speak. Help me decide. Which would you keep/get rid of and why?

Benchmade 710S
Sorry, I'm just not feeling the love for this one. I like the ergos and blade shape of my 732SBT better.

Benchmade 730S
Already have a 730 series that I'm happy with.

Benchmade 875
A thing of beauty. The smoothest opening linerlock I've come across. No need to use the thumb studs. Just flick.

Spyderco Military in ATS-34
Big, honkin' knife. Not practical. Not sheeple-friendly.

Spyderco Wegner
Lock is solid. It's a tough call. I like the Blade-Tech execution better.

Spyderco ATR
Very smooth. Unique lock.

Cheers

this post negates what you said you are not a knife guy.

If you are not. then why not just pick any and get rid of the rest. :D

I am a knife guy. Why else would I be here. Let me clarify. I am not a knife COLLECTING kind of guy. I love carrying and using the knives I have. There will be future purchases, to be sure. I can't buy a knife solly for it's collector value and have it just sit in its little box. For me a knife is a tool (some tools like the 875 are nicer than others) but tools should be used. Well, maybe not the 875 :-)

I have the Blade-Tech version of the Spyderco because the Blade-Tech is in production now. I have a different mindset about carrying and using that one. Similarilly for the current Military.

It's not about what you need with knives. Just like anything else you can get by cheaply and simple and never know what you are missing, until you own the best and see the advantages of the best you will be very content with merely adequate. Knives are something you can own the very good examples of today without a huge investment. There must be 75 knives in this house and each is probably only different to a knife person. Most people just see a "knife". I can look at mine and know what makes it different from others. If you just want to use and cut stuff no you don't need a 100 dollar or more folder. But you are into knives it's just like any other hobby. You always see another that is appealing and you "want" it.
