Six Sherpa gals. Pix taken on balcony of Anamnagar flat - left to right

Yangdu, Pasang, Puti, Dicksung, Sanu, and Chokpa.

Dicksung is Yangdu's younger sis and Chokpa is Yangdu's youngest sis. Dicksung is married with one little girl. Chokpa is single, licensed beautician, and maybe coming to the US this year.

Pasang, Puti and Sanu are all related thru marriage.

To give a little perspective, Yangdu is five feet even and now weighs about 140. When we met she weighed 90 lbs. Chokpa at age 21 is same size Yangdu was when she was in early 20's.

It does sound like one of Uncle Bill's
khukuri descriptions. We know how tall (long) she is, and how much she weighs. The
only thing missing is blade thickness and
handle material.
Do we know how quickly she can chop
through a tree limb? She's pretty enough,
that it doesn't really matter.
 
Actually, these Sherpa gals are a lot like the HI khukuris. Look good and tougher than hell.

Sherpa women still routinely hire on as porters and cooks for trekkers and mountaineers. They carry 60 pounds up mountain trails all day long and then cook the evening meal, wash up the dishes and at 5 AM next morning have tea and washing water ready for the group.

hmmm.... my sherpa girlfriend was cuter!! And all that walking they do really develops nice legs and backends.

Ur...I have a question. Will Chokpa be coming to the Khukuri convention?
 
Before you guys get too interested, reread Blue's post on the Sherpa who set a climbing record without using oxygen. And who stayed up there a whole day without oxygen the year before.

But of course these are only girls - uhh, you *were* bragging about the amount of stamina you said you had?

Just a random thought.

For whatever it might be worth I was married to a Sherpa for almost 20 years before I landed in the hospital with a heart attack.

Uncle Bill may be getting gray and have a tune up now and then but he ain't dead yet.

Chokpa may well be here for the Khukuri Konvention. Warning: Her English is about like my Nepali. But, what the hell.
