Hi, I'm looking for a boot for a boot to wear when I move to MN. I'd like them to be cold/moisture resistant. More of on the shorter side, and I want good traction. Under $150 would be cool. An if all possible, maybe a military style, something you could wear all the time, but I do not need this.

there are many brands to choose from, Caterpillar boots are pretty good in my experience.

The main thing is keeping your feet dry, there are some hiking boots that lace up to your calves and with good care and proper oiling or waxing act like rubber boots.

you probably allready know what wet feet do inside of shoes or boots, I know there are some very nice socks that insulate as well as wick water away pretty well.

Don't forget to break your boots in before hiking!

I really like the look of some of those Belleville Air Force boots. They look more like a civilian/outdoors/hunting boot, than a military boot, because of the sage green leather.

Off Topic: Masteroffajitas, where in MN and when are you moving?

Welcome to the Twin Cities; if you aren't already familiar with the area we do have great outdoor opportunities in easy drving distance.
