Size of the tang/shoulder-chamfer on a water jet cut stick tang?

On commercial knifes they wary from a true angel to a ~3mm radius.

No visual chamfer.

I want to make an as small chamfer as possible but still avoid stress cracks were the tang meats the shoulder. Will a radius off 0,5mm do?
Given 2,5mm stainless@60hrc.

Yes, any radius should do as long as you eliminate the 90 degree angle.

0.5mm might be on the small side, but I agree that even a small radius helps. All you really need to do is give stress a chance to spread out, rather than being concentrated in one tiny sharp corner.
