I am really liking the look of the stripped INFI much better than the coated. Yesterday I hadn't done any, now I have done 5. After all, the can of Klean strip says it must be used within 6 months so who am I to let it go bad. :p These were the first 4 I stripped before I cleaned them up.

So a while back I sent in my urban gray SJTac to Busse to get a competition finish and standard thickness Blue/Black G10 handles. It showed up yesterday and boy did she turn out great! :D Thanks a ton Garth, with as busy as you guys are I don't know how you did it but am sure glad you did.

I liked it so much, I decided to strip my Gladius and take the scotch brite wheel to her to make a nice little matched CF bruiser user set. I am very happy with the results but my pics don't do them justice.

Note the reflection of the purple velvet in the SJTac edge!

I find that while it's not for everyone, the competition finish with no decarb left on it really is perfect for me. I find it the lowest maintenance when used heavily as it just doesn't show scratches much at all yet is still sanitary like satin or dcbb since nothing sticks to it. It is simple, reliable and it pretty much always looks new even after going through wood, metal, rubber, glass etc so you aren't worried about it and can just plain enjoy using it.

Tim that gladius really turned out great and so did the Sj. They turned out quite well and that blue really sets them off.
Congrats on your new satin and blue set.Your the first to strip a gladius i guess,:cool:

Thanks! The work Garth did on the SJTac looks way better than my work, but it will have to do. I wasn't trying to be the first, in fact, until I had the SJTac in my hand I didn't want to strip the Gladius. Now I am very glad I did. The Blue just really gets me somehow, but boy is it hard to find.

This is a before and after shot of the Gladius. This sword is way more fun for me to use than the ak or the ruck due to it's sheer brute strength but I do love them all. I may do the BOSS Jack next.

So I could just buy a black Gladius for around $800 and strip it instead of sending $2000 for the satin version? I know the satin version is really polished up, but for the money you could just do it yourself. That Gladius you did looks great and you didn't have to spend $2000 to get it!

TIm, how smooth is the gladius? Could you do some closes-ups outside with it please sir?:thumbup:

The Gladius does look pretty cool stripped. It looks all Romany.

I don't know why anyone who intends to use a Gladius would spend the extra cash on a satin version. The coated version gives you the choice of two swords in one. Spend less - beat on it - strip it - be happy.

They look great, babe. Be sure to bring them all up so I can kill some trees! I think the Gladius looks awesome with the hand smoothing, too :)

Hi TNT good to see ya here He was here till midnight last night :)
I know so what else is new

I think poor ol' Tim is sleeping :) everybody.

I have a few more pics including when we were done with the Gladius he stabbed it into a 55 gallon drum

I have to make sheaths but I will post some pics later.

I may be able to answer some questions as well.

After seeing what we did to Tim's Gladius I think I may strip mine.

Whole lot of stripping going on in AZ

Nice. I really like the look stripped too. The Custom Shop comp finish on that Sjack is awesome as well. Way to go!

Lookin Good Tim :thumbup::cool:

"Strippin and Usin" makes a lot of financial sense ..... all my satin's are because the knife was only done in satin ....
