I am really liking the look of the stripped INFI much better than the coated. Yesterday I hadn't done any, now I have done 5. After all, the can of Klean strip says it must be used within 6 months so who am I to let it go bad.
These were the first 4 I stripped before I cleaned them up.
So a while back I sent in my urban gray SJTac to Busse to get a competition finish and standard thickness Blue/Black G10 handles. It showed up yesterday and boy did she turn out great!
Thanks a ton Garth, with as busy as you guys are I don't know how you did it but am sure glad you did.
I liked it so much, I decided to strip my Gladius and take the scotch brite wheel to her to make a nice little matched CF bruiser user set. I am very happy with the results but my pics don't do them justice.
Note the reflection of the purple velvet in the SJTac edge!
I find that while it's not for everyone, the competition finish with no decarb left on it really is perfect for me. I find it the lowest maintenance when used heavily as it just doesn't show scratches much at all yet is still sanitary like satin or dcbb since nothing sticks to it. It is simple, reliable and it pretty much always looks new even after going through wood, metal, rubber, glass etc so you aren't worried about it and can just plain enjoy using it.
