SJTAC in Aghanistan

Looks like that Busse is placed where it is most accessible. Great thanks for the honorable job well done, and his safe return. Cheers from a GONZO Station Vet.

Tell your son "THANKS YOU for his service"!!! I can only imagine the joy you feel to have him home and safe once again. Congrats to you both.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I will definitely pass on all of your thanks and well wishes to the Boy.
Like the song says: "I'm so proud it hurts. My chest is poppin' buttons off my shirt..."
And yes, I'm VERY relieved that he made it back safe. I've learned that there's a BIG difference between being the Soldier deployed to a war zone, and being the parent of a Soldier deployed to a war zone. This was his second tour, and it wasn't any easier for me than the first.

So, it's been a while since I've posted. Looong story...

Anway, I wanted to finally post some pictures of my Son, a US Army Combat Engineer with his SJTAC in a Buy Brown sheath in Kandahar province. He just returned in July from a 9 month deployment conducting Counter IED patrols in sounthern Afghanistan. He tells me that it got a LOT of attention from guys who are in the know about quality knives and recognize a Busse, as well others who just like a good knife.

Now, that's not where I would have mounted it, nor would I have used zip ties(!), but it worked for him.

Special thanks to David Brown for donating the sheath to this young warrior.

As an ex soldier I'm glad you'r son made it home safe! It's not simple out there.
one question: the Busse is attached to the front mags pouch of the vest, right side- it does not bother him pull his mags during combat? he may want to pin her on the vest. ( by the pic I see that his trigger hand is the left one)

Great pictures! I'm happy to hear that he made it home safely! Please pass along a word of thanks to him for his service. :D

Glad he made a safe return, and thank him for his service, Real Hero right there Ladies and Gents....Even if he is Air Force.... J/K

He probably had to mount it there to keep it out of the way of his wheelbarrow that he used for his gigantic jewels!!
I never minded getting shot at compared to IEDs. Those guys rock:applouse:
Glad he's home.

Bob

Sends the right message to the bad guys if you ask me. This is not the droid you're looking for....

I agree that he mounted it where it worked best for him. I'm just glad that he had it with him where it could do the most good. And, yeah, that's a hell of a job that he and his mates have. It takes a special kind of man to carry it out.

I've passed the well wishes and kind words on to him, and he sends his thanks back to all of you.
