I just spent a hour looking at S90V vs S30V and other super steels and the gist of it was if you are willing to learn how to sharpen them and have the right tools to do it they are well worth the extra cost for the knife and time it takes to maintain them. I've always been happy with 420 440 'normal' steels but I think I'm going to try a upgraded steel in the next Buck I buy if for no other reason than to learn how to sharpen them. There just has to be a reason so many custom makers and company's are going to the super steels. .
