Hey does anyone know where's a good place to buy some really cheap grip tape for my knife? I've seen a few places where people cut an outline of grip tape and put it on their knives for a nice aesthetic look and some extra grip. I know I can get some online, but where would they sell it locally? Like a Home Depot or Lowe's? Anything other than a skate shop because there are none around here. Thanks!

Any decent hardware store should have it or similar. Look for the stuff they put on steps to make them slip-resistant. When I last bought it for the frontstrap of my 1911, the 2" stuff was like 33 cents a foot.

Hello,

Any skate shop should have it. You can get a sheet that's 10x30 for about 8$. I like the stuff that's ment for actual skate boards because the texture isn't to rough and its really durable.

I remember when I used to skate I used black magic grip tape and the stuff was probably the equivalent of around 300 grit sandpaper, maybe less. Great for skateboards, but I couldn't imagine putting that stuff on a knife. You can pick it up from any skateshop, amazon, etc.

Also try using a bike inner tube on larger fixed blade knives. It might be hard to squeeze a small tube on the handle, but once you do just trim the excess away & enjoy a grip that conforms to you hand. I have used inner tubes on axes, hammers, knives & firearms with great results. And it's cheaper than buying houge grips or the plastic dips for handles. For the best look use a razor to trim both sides before you put it on to keep it looking even. Enjoy.

Mcnett Gear makes a camo wrap that is meant for guns and bows. I've used it on neck knives and other projects. It clings to itself and is cheap enough to replace when needed.
