SKBlades 830 Marksman: Update and Pictures!

Who cuts up donuts?!?!?! Might have lost some points there.... j/k

I'm still digging the drop point. You have a point with the black oxide matching the hardware better. Can you get the drop point in black oxide stonewash? If not, maybe the hardware can be stainless?

I think you've got a winner with either, but sign me up for a drop point.

The new scale design is a big win! My pockets are going to thank me.

One does not simply eat a whole doughnut in front of the wife! HA!!

Ha! You and I are in a small club of people that like serrations! Those would look amazing.

We are taking the forum votes very seriously and sticking with the stone wash and drop point, so there won't be a change to the Tanto on this run. I'm curious if changing to a black oxide stone wash would violate the voting that took place? I think everyone will like the knife, especially for use with just the plain stone wash. But for that extra oomph I wonder if black oxide stone wash isn't 'the way to go now that we've all seen it in action.... Things to ponder.

Definitely tanto. The knife just looks better. The drop point looks out of plaice. Maybe if the drop point had serrations and was stonewashed

So, I lied. I thought I could carry the Tanto and suffer through the impracticality of the blade. It is not so. I'm carrying the drop point solo now, because I was always reaching for that one whenever I had something to do.

Just to reiterate for everyone, the drop point pictured above IS Stone washed, in case you were confusing it with the black oxide. If you weren't confused, well, carry on.

Is your sample S35VN, or the stock 154CM? What do you think of it so far? Durability, ease of sharpening, etc...

Have you taken it apart to see how the g10 is holding up at the blade stop pin?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Also, what is the weight of the G10 version- Is it lighter?

The aluminum with the drop weighs in at 4.2 ounces and the G10 weighs 3.6 ounces.

To you MT, I have the 154CM so not much to say there. As for the G10, I know it's supposed to be as strong and durable as aluminum so I'd imagine the knife won't get sloppy. However, I just haven't used it long enough to see if that will be true. So far so good.

Prefer drop point. Could live with tanto.
Hate coated blades. Would not buy black tanto.
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers.

Drop point version has me Very interested!! ETA as to when they will be ready?

Buck gave us a June 24th ship date so we are keeping our fingers crossed that they are on pace! Will keep everyone up to date as we get closer.

I will be looking. Thanks for doing this!

Well, I have bad news. Buck has pushed the ship date back. They are super busy and bottle necked in the factory. It's good news because Buck is strong and healthy, bad news because I'm impatient. :P

its hard to explain how nice this feels and looks with the Tanto blade. I prefer drop point but cant resist this Tanto.

I would definitely pickup one of the drop points. When and where will these be available to purchase.

These will be hopefully ready start of July. Buck has pushed back our ship date from June 24. And you can purchase them at www.skblades.com

If you head over you can subscribe to the mailing list and we'll notify you when they are in stock!
