Ok, I'm by no means a maker though I've played with it from time to time mostly modifying those blades I already have that I'm not quite happy with as they are... or well... if I'm bored and they are close at hand. What I do however do, is doodle and sketch blades constantly. I'm not the only person doing this am I? How many or how often do you all find yourself doing this? Am I just obsessed?

Yes. You are obsessed. No. You are not alone.

I keep sketch pads all over the place. I have even waken up in the middle of the night, grabbed my sketch pad, scribbled out ideas and then gone back to sleep.

It's a sickness with no known cure.

Yes, you are obsessed.

First, you sketch knives. That's fine for a while.

Eventually that is not enough to satisfy the hunger. You start cutting out your sketches, tracing them onto cardboard, and trying to see if they feel good in the hand, or not.

That just makes things worse. Once you start cutting them out in cardboard, the next step is cutting them out in steel. Once that happens, you're doomed. :D

LOL, I started cutting them out of cardboard 20 years ago.... and I've cut a few of them out of steel now. It's a slippery slope I suppose.
