  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Skinner?

IIRC, the Gerber Freemans are S30V. I had thought of picking one up without the gut hook, for quite awhile, just never did

for 30 bucks they are hard to beat. stay sharp for a while. a PIA to sharpen but when its sharp it holds it fairly well. i would buy another if i had too.

I don't get to do that much skinning, but this was my first attempt at a hunter/skinner for a customer.

I have skinned more deer than I can count with an old carbon steel old timer sharp finger. lots of other game too!!

I had a relative who used that knife back in the day. Always seemed like a nice design for game. I'd add the canadian belt knife by grohmann... seems like a great skinning blade. Also the Bill moran spyderco fixed blade knife and the Fallkniven H1.

I'd look for a thin slicing blade with a skinner shape with lots of belly in a stainless steel with no choil and a design like the ones I just mentioned. Handle should be impervious to moisture and gunk (not something that it soaks into), and fixed blade or an easy to clean folder.
