The Skinny Fat Bowie is so called because it is lean and mean at 3/32" stock thickness, but packs a fat blade nearly 2 inches broad. With a recurve like angle, sweeping full length belly, scandi-vex geometry, and fully sharpened straight clip, this knife will cut every which way but Sunday. And with a full sized neutral handle it'll do it comfortably in any grip even with prolonged use. At a weight lighter than many equivalent or even smaller sized folders, if you're looking for a versatile and large, but still EDC sized Bowie, this one gets it done.
Specs
Steel: 3/32" 15N20 (a lesser known but underrated steel)
Geometry: Scandi-vex, near zero grind
Overall Length: 9 3/16"
Cutting Edge Length: 4 1/2"
Weight: 5.9 oz
Handle: Natural canvas Micarta, black G10 liners, 416 stainless pins and lanyard tube
Note: 15N20 is a tough, high carbon simple alloy steel that is know for its fine grain, extremely sharp edge, and ease of sharpening. This knife is not waterproof. It should not be submerged for any length of time, and should be protected from rust by cleaning, drying and oiling after wet or dirty use, and it should be expected to develop a nice patina over time. With a minimal amount of proper maintenance you have a tool that should outlast you.
Thanks for looking!
