Skinny NMFSH?

I just got mine in a few minutes ago. And while 5/16ths thick, it is so incredibly balanced. I would like to see a sabre grind or thicker flat grind to give it more forward weight.

I like 'em fat. Especially with the full flat ground blade, it's really fast and cuts deep--Very good balance. I'm not a big fan of the saber ground fatties because for me what you gain by having a heaver more forward balance you looses with the penetration of the cut. Plus you got all that extra weight to carry around with you. That's just my 2 cents.

pics coming soon!

I like them fat for choppers, and the 5/16" thick blade the perfect thickness for a chopper.

Keep the skinny blades for the smaller 3"-4" slicer knives.

The NMFSH is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I think it will definitely be a Busse classic.

Don't get wrong. I am super thrilled with it, and sure I will be even moreso after I am able to put it to use. Just doesn't have a "chopper" feel. Not saying its bad.

If you haven't chopped with it yet just wait. It's one powerful blade that will stand up to the best of them. I agree with Flux, it's going to be a classic that's for sure. I only wish I would've ordered more of them. Oh, if only I had the bling $ :).

Rain is holding me back today. I will be a chopping fool once i have a dry day. I would love to have gotten a few of these also!!!

No fan of fat here. Although, one can design a knife that is fat at the ricasso, but then tapers in both directions to effect a blade with optimal balance.

It may be that when I get a chance to handle an NMFBM, that I will regret having not ordered one.

< shrug > So it goes.

Waiting for the Anniversary CGLBNMSHBM.

I handled a buddies LE and while the balance IS great, it still felt heavy for me for a knife I would be carrying. I prefer my knives thin with a full height grind. My combat grade has not arrived yet so I can't make a final opinion on what I would want but I have never chosen fat over thin before so I suspect I would prefer the thim if it was offered.
