Skinny Rodent Solution???

I love my rodent solution. It's my go to knife. In fact I carried it today. I do wish the made it in a thinner stock, in a .12 or .14. It would be an amazing slicer.

I thinned the edge with edge pro and stripped it with Flexx and it's the sharpest knife I own. Just wish they made a skinny version for game and fish.

Here are some pics from a recent hike. Again my go to.

Kinda hard to see in this one.

There was a bunch that were hollow ground. Those are wicked slicers!

But I do agree, RS would be a great EDC in thinner stock... or the hollow grind with LB handle...

I completely agree with this. The RS is a tank of a small blade. Part of the reason I started modding the rodent trail is that it is something like .020" thinner to start with than the RS. But I would be all over a 'Solution in 1/8" stock. Skeletonize the tang to lighten it up, and build it in elmax, or better yet CPM 20CV and you'd have a winner.

Beautiful pics BTW man.

Elof, was that an actual run that was offered straight from the shop with the hollow grind? I've seen a few of them around, and just thought that maybe they were ordered from the custom shop.

I got mine on secondary market, they were either offered in a Ganza or one of the shows. They were all satin with black paper micarta and Custom Shop logo.

I'm glad there are a number of them out there then, even if not many. It's a really nice configuration of the RS.

It feels lighter, sharpens easily without all the meat behind edge, and with full thickness spine is still a really stout blade.

I have a solution and a trail that I like fine as is, but I also like the way you guys are thinking.

I'd love to see a run with the blade length and profile of the drop point trails with thinner stock and a lightened tang. Maybe a thin full flat like the Srapmax blades. Wouldn't turn down hollow or convex grinds either though. Steel can be whatever... SR-101, ELMAX, INFI. Satin please, I'll take it!!

This with skeletonized tang and thin stock, I'm definitely in.

By the way, the dropped Rodent Trail is really nice in hand. Great idea HK! Might spring for one once CS takes orders again

Thanks for volunteering!! :D That one got huuuuge so fast I wasn't sure if anyone had mentioned a skinny RS (or Swamp MUK) over there.

Ya that one flat blew up! I put in a couple plugs for the rats, but I'm not sure they'll stand out in the rush to the trough.

Thanks man, mine has severed me really well. Even though flat-ground, it came a bit thick behind the edge, so I worked over the primary grind a bit. It is sterile now, but a wicked slicer. Did you get to handle Andy's CS RT then?

Yup, that was the one I got in my paws.

Sweet! I hope Andy gives us a report once he gets some use on it. It should fly through a fallow deer, but I'm not sure on the hogs.

Friggin auto correct. SERVED me really well. Although there's no doubt it has the potential to sever the heck outta me if neglected, lol. It is one Rat that I hope never bites it owner :D

I will always prefer skinny to thick. I got an Elmax Active Duty and Elmax Game Warden a couple of years ago and they were awesome. Still have the Duty and probably always will. 1/8" Rodent in SR101 would be great.
