Skookum Bush Tool or Northwest Bushcraft BCNW-O1

This to me falls into the Woodlore "Lust" relm,

I have never found a knife soooo special in its design, fit and finish or quality that i felt it was worth waiting that long. A couple months yeah I can understand that.

Artificial demand = more profit for the knife maker.

Not to start down the brand wars, but i can get a off the shelf semi custom that does everything a Skookum will do for less money and wait.

I understand if your collecting a knife, I'm talking pure user

I respect your opinion but disagree. I can't see how it would be in the "Woodlore Lust Relm" when the maker is not over charging. $200 dollars is not a ridiculous asking price for a handmade knife with a high level of fit and finish, great steel options, handle options, butt plate, etc.. The only pia is the wait, but the maker hasn't exaggerated his price any....

I don't know of any semi custom off the shelf options with a scandi grind with the same level of quality at a much lower price, please fill me in.

In regards to "artificial demand" I don't even know what that means. Demand is demand. People want his knife, there is nothing artificial about that. The maker chooses to take his sweet time making them, but it is his life and I won't tell him how fast to make a knife. As long as he doesn't charge astronomical prices, I will continue to recommend the Skookum Bush Tool.

I got lucky and got my Skookum at a great price from a fellow forum member, so I never had to wait. Since I have had it I have used it allot and it is one of my favorites. Most of my user knives are in the same price range, it's what works for me...

Yeah really $200 is not that much for that time of knife. They could probably ask much more and still get plenty of customer so kudos to them for remaining reasonable.
It's not the ultimate knife but if you can get hand on one it is very good and maker is very likeable.

I know this is an older thread but wanted to throw my opinion in and possibly open the discussion back up. I'm on the even longer list, but was able to pick up one from a fellow member on the Esee forum. I have to say it is a truly amazing yet simple design. Maybe the simplicity is the main draw for me. If you can find one or even a similar design I think you will be very happy with it.
