Damn! I never thought the bids would go so high, I guess the long wait for one is worth spending the extra dough. I myself would rather pickup a gossman or koster, and maybe spend the extra on a golok or ksf machete.
must not have the patience to wait for one, for less???
I just recieved this knife from bushcraftnorthwest. I must admit this is one of my favorite blades. I really like the blade's geometry very similar to that of the skookum and at a much more attractive price. I will try and take more pics and do a mini review when i get a chance.

It's $200 and a 12 month wait to get one made... SO some guy thought it was worth an extra $50 to be able to use it this summer instead of waiting until next. What's the big deal?
The older you get, the more patient you get. Most worthwhile things and lessons in life don't come in an instant soup package. The short wait for the Skookum is worth it, if you like the design and, desire the sort of quality and attention to detail that goes in to the Skookum. Too, Rod is a super guy to do business with.
I have many knives that cost me several times the amount of the Skookum, waited much longer for them, and are not nearly as well-made and useful.![]()
True but that is your opinion, you may hate this design but for all you know theres someone out there who will be willing to wait as long as it takes and to pay hundreds for it.I'm mostly a "value" guy; not too much into brands or appearances. That knife's nice, but there's plenty of good options that cost a lot less.
well fellas i bought mine early, and dont regret it one bit.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, just like art - went to a gallery with my girlfriend and I swear to god some of them had a striking resemblance to a bad day at the local child care's finger painting session. Yet some went up to a million dollars in bidding.
