Its all good! :thumbup: Skunk has been pestering me day and night for me to ship these back to him. I just told him I ain't shipping a darn thing until I get my SAR5s like I had originally planned when I went to the eugene show :)
 
I'm very impressed by the weld job. Now that people know you can do it, I can imagine the insane requests that might be done. Particularly the GW combinations that might be exploited given the amount that some HOGS have acquired and don't mind a well thought out experiment. Did you have to treat the INFI any differently?

I was just pulling Lil'Foo's leg about the welding. I didn't actually do it. But if you want I can try and weld a couple of your GW's and turn them into a AK. :D JK!
 
Wow!! Way cool Ban...you're killin me with all these pic's :D REALLY! My best guess would be that with all the new popularity of the Ruck, someone had you turn their AK into one and you had a little extra INFI :D am I close?

HA! I really wish that were the case. It would have made my life much easier. I had to chop up a small knife and grind both sides until I get flat bar stock. That part too much longer than I anticipated and even then it wasn't the right thickness that I was after :( I then had to trace a precisely scaled FSH onto the stock and grind away...

How did ya think I got the left over tang for a kiridashi ? :D
 
Man, that FSH is sweet! That must've been PAINSTAKINGLY slow work!!! :D It's amazing! I'll bet you'll be commissioned to do one in LIFE size now! :p That kiridashi would be way cool to have riding in a hip pocket! Love those things, very useful! I have one made of blue steel from Japan that get's a fair amount of use...I'm surprised more people don't have them!

Yep, those things are darn useful for their size. It has been my EDC for the past few days and I love it. Featherweight and unnoticeable until needed. It has served me well and pretty much replace my my folder for most all smaller edc cutting tasks. I will be making a few in CPM-M4 when I get those barstock sometime next week. Since the edge is so small I want the best edge holding possible for small cutting tasks.
