Greg's always given me good deals when it came to whatever he had in stock.
On two seperate occassions, I'd asked for something "different". One was about 2-3 years ago, for a Custom CQB-6 from Emerson and he plainly told me that they're pretty scarce and I might have to wait a year or two. AFter 2 years were up, I asked about the knife and he said, "Oh, there's no chance of getting them anymore. Forget it."
He gave me the impression that he'd never placed the order in the first place. On another occassion, I expressed my need for dual, decorated, large Sebenzas. Righty and lefty. He told me they'd take a year or so. Once again, I said "No problem". A year was up, I called him and he said they didn't ship yet. We left it at that. That was 2 years ago, at least.
I'm not trying to bash the guy. He seems to be an honest fella and he's always been more than fair with me whenever I bought from him.
I just felt insulted, ya know? I've bought over $3,000 from him on 4-5 orders, and I'd like to think that shows that I'm a serious guy and would want to be treated with a bit of professionalism. To forget an order can be forgiven, at least by me. Just tell me that you goofed, that's all. Having the same thing happen again in the same year makes me think that I'm just not too important, though.
I've since changed dealers. The guy I buy from is just as honest and will go out of his way to find something unusual for me.
In the interests of not starting a "Trash Dealer A /Promote Dealer B" Post, I'll leave my dealer's name out of this.
If you find that you're looking for someone that really goes the distance, email me and I'll give you his info.
