SKYLANDSCUTLERY

I second the thought. Although it's been a while, I got an unusual tanto Polkowski CQ based on a phone conversation and it arrived very quickly, in perfect condition, with minimal border complications. I only wish they still published a list of customs on the net site

Along with numerous happy purchases, I can also credit Greg with turning me on to the Spyder Wegner, which I bought sight unseen on his recommendation, and have not ceased to be overjoyed with.

I have had nothing but good service from Greg at Skylands Cutlery. I have ordered from him even before he was on the 'Net.

The first knife I purchased from Gregg was a small Sebenza and I still have it. I've since bought a lot of other knives from him and I've always received excellent service. His was the first purchase I made from a mail order house and It worked out fine.

Greg's always given me good deals when it came to whatever he had in stock.
On two seperate occassions, I'd asked for something "different". One was about 2-3 years ago, for a Custom CQB-6 from Emerson and he plainly told me that they're pretty scarce and I might have to wait a year or two. AFter 2 years were up, I asked about the knife and he said, "Oh, there's no chance of getting them anymore. Forget it."
He gave me the impression that he'd never placed the order in the first place. On another occassion, I expressed my need for dual, decorated, large Sebenzas. Righty and lefty. He told me they'd take a year or so. Once again, I said "No problem". A year was up, I called him and he said they didn't ship yet. We left it at that. That was 2 years ago, at least.
I'm not trying to bash the guy. He seems to be an honest fella and he's always been more than fair with me whenever I bought from him.
I just felt insulted, ya know? I've bought over $3,000 from him on 4-5 orders, and I'd like to think that shows that I'm a serious guy and would want to be treated with a bit of professionalism. To forget an order can be forgiven, at least by me. Just tell me that you goofed, that's all. Having the same thing happen again in the same year makes me think that I'm just not too important, though.
I've since changed dealers. The guy I buy from is just as honest and will go out of his way to find something unusual for me.
In the interests of not starting a "Trash Dealer A /Promote Dealer B" Post, I'll leave my dealer's name out of this.
If you find that you're looking for someone that really goes the distance, email me and I'll give you his info.

Vampire Gerbil: similar to a domestic gerbil, except for the odd accent and little black cape.

I have dealt with Greg many times in the last 5 years. Since I live near him he has met me near his home with knives so I could get them faster. He has also brought as many knives with him as I asked so I could decide which one to purchase. A first class guy-he goes the extra mile.
Thanks Greg- Dave A , Wharton,NJ

I've dealt w/ him several times over the phone & at a couple of shows- First-rate fellow. He & I will do business again.
